Fluke - Puppy One Little Indian

Fluke have been responsible for some of the most consistently rocking, drugged out tunes in the past decade. Famous for their unique, raw, bluesy influenced electronica, these low-slung heroes’s of dirt and groove deliver their first album for quite some time and its marvelous. “Puppy” is named after a fifty-foot sculpture of a highland terrier that stands outside the Guggenheim. Despite its cuddly name, the album bristles with dark energy and prickly funk, balanced out with a select few chilled moments. With so many standout tracks it’s hard to choose the winners, but some favorites include My Spine, Hang Tough, Another Kind of Blues (which appeared on the Matrix Revisited movie) and the gospel infused Blue Sky. With seven albums under their belt, the Fluke sound is maturing but still sounds as fresh as ever.
